Shadows Without Substance kick off their Terrorvision EP Launch Tour at Tomcat with the help of Black Heart Breakers, Salty Lix, Humblet and Caravan!

Black Heart Breakers:
Black Heart Breakers play hard and work even harder. This no bullshit mentality has led them to opening up for legends such as Marky Ramone, Stiff Little Fingers, Ruts DC and Australia’s own Radio Birdman, all in between their own tours and hundreds of shows. Tough guitars, tougher lyrics, and a sweaty band room make Black Heart Breakers feel at home.

Black Heart Breakers have never been afraid to wear their influences on their sleeve proudly, loving everything from the Ramones, The Living End, The Angels and The Clash. In between drinks Black Heart Breakers are constantly honing their live performance, songwriting, and musicianship and are wasting no time waiting to get discovered.

Shadows Without Substance:
Shadows Without Substance was originally formed with a sense of urgency. They had no members, no fans, no songs, no name and a gig within a month. Within 3 weeks they formed a literal band of misfits, wrote 6 songs, picked a name and practiced their asses off for that first Ric’s gig.

With a handful of melancholic songs with equally suggestive titles and 6-months on from that first gig, they released their debut single ‘Going Down’ in November 2018. This band has evolved from a group of shy individuals to the kind of family you would complain about at a fancy restaurant for being too loud. While the band sees themselves as your typical mid-20s tragics, they love nothing more than making music without restrictions that is important to them and, hopefully, to the listener.

Humblet:
Nick Humblet is free spirited, wild & weird. The result of a decade with a guitar in his hands, you can expect passionate originality and an unorthodox stage persona. This is isn’t just roots, grunge, punk & pop…it’s Australiana...it's Humblet.

With a wicked mind and eco ethos, Humblet’s songwriting is genius. He will set your soul on fire with honest lyrics, comedic story telling and a punchy beat from his bare feet. No gig will ever give you the same emotion as the last.

Humblet’s humble beginnings started when his Dad, Dom bought him a guitar from a garage sale at the age of 12 seeing it as the never ending puzzle for Nick’s inquisitive mind. From the beautiful Glasshouse mountains and now hailing in Brisbane, Nick has captivated crowds from the Sunshine Coast to Byron Bay. His raw, up beat performance of rolling tunes is primed for dirty pubs, noisy skate bowls and epic surf roadies. You might also catch him slamming bass for alternate rock grunge ’Regular Band’, or hosting 4zzz’s EcoRadio Peace & Environment Show.

Collaborating with Bedlam Studios to bring to life his 2nd EP, Humblet presents ‘I do like my Troopy, but I sure love you’. After a tragic incident between Nick’s beloved Cole Clarke and a falling PA, all 5 songs were recorded using a Fender Telecaster buried in the studio. Fear not, Humblet’s creation is even more energetic, amplified and contagious than ever before. Expect stuck in your head, hip shaking tunes.

Salty Lix:
Salty Lix are an energetic riff machine made to make your night better. If you ever wondered what happens when you take five university trained musicians and then turn the dials to eleven, look no further! Proudly carrying the Blues-Rock torch into the 21st century, Salty Lix present an amazing mix of energised lyrics and rhythms with influences from AC/DC to ZZ Top.

Caravan:
Caravan is a Brisbane based three piece rock and roll band with a sound straight from the golden age of vinyl, lava lamps & shag pile. Toss bands like Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones and Eagles into a Tequila Sunrise, add a little punk dust and a twist of alternative rock and you've got what we call Caravan.
