The Damned – 40th Anniversary Tour
Celebrate four decades of music, madness and memories with English psychedelic punk icons The Damned, as they hit Australian roads this March, marking their mammoth 40th anniversary tour. The legends will be bringing their renowned catalogue in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth and will also be gracing Golden Plains 2017.
The Damned began trailing the path of success when they played their first ever gig at the iconic 100 Club in 1976, in support of The Sex Pistols. Fast forward 40 years and the seminal punks now have an incredible ten studio albums, fifteen striking live albums, thirty-one compilations, two successful EP’s and thirty-one epic singles all under their name.
Their smash hits like Love Song, Smash It Up, Eloise, Gigolo and Grimly Fiendish, introduced them to worldwide fame. Now, these icons are set to prove that they still reign on the punk rock scene.
The band continued to release masterful music with their latest offering So, Who’s Paranoid? despite a series of line-up changes and temporary break-up. The release marks the group's first album after a huge seven year hiatus. With no signs of leaving the punk scene, the gothic rockers are set to release their eleventh studio album, which is yet to be titled.
Basking in punk supremacy for 40 years now, the tour will be led by original members Captain Sensible on guitar and the remarkable David Vanian on vocals, as well as long time members Monty Oxy Moron, Pinch and Stu West.

“The assembled crowd going utterly berserk to an all-time classic track which still sounds like it was recorded yesterday, with an unbeatable urgency and passion to it.” - Tone Deaf
“For those of you who aren't familiar with them, the Damned are the band that beat the Sex Pistols to every punch in the late 70s, including being the first UK punk band to release an album.” - Pitchfork
