The Heart Foundation ACT is hosting early morning Floriade walks.
These walks are to start a movement to take positive steps towards active living to help reduce stress, have a healthier body and heart, and build stronger relationships. We are here to get everyone moving, no matter where you live or your fitness level.
The walks are held before Floriade opens to the public. It's a great way to get some exercise, and beat the crowds! Come join us and enjoy the sun, get to know the community and be active!
Time: Arrive at 7:45am for the walk start at 8am!
Meeting point: Meet at the "Early morning walk" sign next to the crossing on commonwealth Avenue, near the turn off to Regatta Point.
Walks last for approximately 45 minutes and are lead by volunteers and a Heart Foundation staff member. Walks cover around 3km and we like to keep a decent pace so that we are getting some moderate exercise.
These walks are wheel chair friendly but please let us know in advance. Dogs are not allowed on walks, except for the walk on Sunday Oct 13th.
A gold coin donation is appreciated at the end of each walk, but it is certainly not compulsory. The Heart Foundation would not be able to offer these walks without the help of our wonderful volunteer Leaders and Walkers.
